Occupational Therapy, Reimagined

I'm an occupational therapy doctoral student with a passion for emerging practice areas, ergonomics, and non-traditional settings for OT. What I love most about this field is the creativity it demands — who we serve, how we serve them, and the ways we turn the seemingly impossible into possible.

I'm drawn to the intersection of health, occupation, and environment, and I believe that where someone works is just as important as how they work. Ergonomics, to me, is one of the most powerful and underutilized tools OT has to offer.

Beyond the Desk & Chair

I chose this capstone project because I wanted to create a tool that both traditional and non-traditional sedentary, desk, and office workers could use to take ergonomics into their own hands. My goal was to bring a modern, holistic, and long-term approach to ergonomic care — one that goes beyond the quick fixes that are so often the standard.

Ergonomics is about so much more than just the desk and chair, and I wanted to build an educational program and checklist that reflects that. This project is designed to boost ergonomic awareness, empower people to make meaningful changes, and help individuals become active participants in their own ergonomic well-being.

I envision this program being used by employees, employers, and OT practitioners alike — as a resource that bridges the gap between clinical knowledge and everyday application.
